Suffice to say, a LOT has happened in Porsha Williams‘ life since her departure from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. After leaving the series following Season 13, Porsha officially made things official with Nigerian business Simon Guobadia. They were wed in 2022, and everything seemed to be going swimmingly. When it was revealed that Porsha may be back in the running to return as a peach-holder, she was set to return as Mrs. Simon Guobadia. However, the two filed for divorce in February 2024.
With Porsha returning to the series, fans are expecting the star to fill in the gaps regarding her relationship and separation. But more importantly, it’s imperative that she address the facts revolving around the Falynn Pina controversy. After appearing multiple times alongside Porsha in Season 13, fans are still questioning the timeline of events and how Porsha ended up with her then-co-star’s estranged husband. With Season 16 likely to heavily feature Porsha, what better time than now to address the questions and finally set the record straight?
Porsha Williams’ Past Is A Present Mess on ‘RHOA’
In 2021, Porsha Williams made things official that she and Simon Guobadia were officially an item. Of course, Guobadia first appeared on-screen as the husband of Falynn, a guest star of Season 13. While the timeline of events had always been suspect, Porsha and Simon became official in May, and Falynn announced her separation from Simon in April. At the time, on her social media, the peach-holder wrote in a since-deleted post, “For all of you that need facts, I get the optics, but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them. Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives.” By 2022, Simon and Porsha were wed, before parting ways. They celebrated 25 months together as husband and wife.
Now that they have gone their separate ways, there is extraordinary amount of room to establish facts of the past. While Porsha Williams has always been that girl who loves to close one chapter to begin another, she’s not necessarily granted that grace in this situation. In the past, her major life milestones have been surrounded by cameras. This time, RHOA was not around to capture the action. Which means she has to fill us in. It’s only fair. And part of that must include how Falynn Pina fits into the picture. Since she’s no longer tied down by Simon as a spouse, Porsha has the wiggle room to share.
Falynn Pina Changed Her Story

The dust has settled since filming has wrapped, but Porsha was embroiled in her divorce at the start of filming the upcoming season. When Falynn had the opportunity to speak about her divorce from Simon, she was adamant about not placing blame on the RHOA star. She said, “Simon and I were the ones who were married to one another. We’re the ones who created a family together and built a life with one another. I blame the both of us. He is to blame, I am to blame, and that is all. Whatever came after that — not saying it was right, not saying it was wrong — but no, no one has that power.” But that was a statement made in 2021. Since then, it’s been reported that the timeline wasn’t necessarily accurate.
Appearing on The Baller Alert Show, Falynn blurted out, “They were dating for a year while I was [still] happily married, and that came from Dennis’ mouth.” Three years removed from the incident at hand, Falynn roped Porsha’s ex, Dennis McKinley into the mix, claiming he was the one who told her. She then revealed that she was “not allowed out” while she was still with SImon. While the former couple may be cordial, there are now a lot of unanswered questions that deserve a resolution. Porsha has a platform to explain the gaps. To prove her growth, yet again, this is her opportunity to lay out the facts. Will she be an adult about it and fix the Falynn controversy? Time will tell!
