We applaud Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna for gifting us one of the most iconic moments in franchise history. The setting? Season 5 of RHOBH in Amsterdam. When Kim Richards uttered two sentences about Lisa’s beloved husband, Harry Hamlin, all hell broke loose.
Lisa Rinna didn’t want to hang out in a jail cell
As you may recall, Lisa left RHOBH ahead of Season 13. And she has zero plans to ever return to the series. Instead, she has been living her best life, including starting a podcast with Harry.
During the first episode of their Let’s Not Talk About the Husband podcast, Lisa revealed some tea about that moment in Amsterdam. What triggered Lisa was Kim’s comment, “Let’s talk about the husband. Let’s not talk about what you don’t want out.”
During the podcast, Lisa explained, “I went across the table, and I about strangled her. In my mind, when I was across the table – because it happened so quickly – I said to myself, ‘You will go to jail in Amsterdam. Do not touch her.’”
Lisa continued, “So, I pull back, and that’s when I am filled with energy and anger. I take the wine glass and smash it.” She added, “We fly to Amsterdam and there was weirdness on the plane. I was getting some cold shoulder vibes from Kim Richards. So, I could tell that there was something brewing.” Oh, something was definitely brewing!
Then Lisa explained that Kim’s comment happened before the group had ordered drinks. “She is insinuating that you had done something horrible,” Lisa said on the podcast. “So what did Harry do?” her husband asked.
“She said, ‘Let’s not talk about the husband,’ like insinuating that I had gone out and f*cked everybody in sight. All these people that I was supposedly having it off with, but it sounds like fun, but I didn’t have any,” Harry explained.
Of course, Harry weighed in on how Lisa defended his honor. “You actually broke a wine glass. I’ve seen that, and it’s, like, hard to believe that little Lisa Rinna from Medford, Oregon did such a bold thing at that moment,” he said. “But you did. It was in defense of me, I presume.”
According to Lisa, the RHOBH producers found out that Harry was her “hot-button topic.” I mean, Lisa slammed Garcelle Beauvais because she didn’t give Harry a formal thank-you note for a jar of his spaghetti sauce.
“That’s what those producers are so f*cking good with,” Lisa stated. “They’re evil geniuses and they can get in there and figure out, ‘OK, this is what you need to do, Kim. You need to go and say this to Rinna and she will f*cking lose it,’” she claimed. “And guess what? That’s what happened.”
