For the longest time, I thought Sutton Stracke was the epitome of a true Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member. She had more than enough money to fund her lavish lifestyle. Most of the time, she had pretty decent manners. And she seemed to keep herself on the outskirts of the drama when it came to the other women. But Season 14 has shown Sutton getting her hands dirty. Her messy ways continue to be exposed this season, and it feels a bit like a downfall, which is a shame!
Southern manners went right out the window in Beverly Hills
The first half of Season 14 showed Sutton trying to extend an olive branch of peace toward Dorit Kemsley. But the Beverly Beach babe has been on the warpath and Sutton has found herself in the crossfire. During lunch at Dorit’s home, Sutton is heard telling the host, “You’re such a b*tch.” While it isn’t clear what was being argued over, the sentiments were mirrored. Dorit quipped, “Don’t call me a b*tch in my home, for f*ck sake.” Then, the cameras show Sutton ripping off a golden headpiece while being comforted by Kyle Richards.
In the background, Bozoma Saint John can be heard telling her new best friend, Dorit, “If someone walks into my home and calls me a b*tch those are fighting words.” The trailer jumps to another lunch where Sutton says, “You need to pick on somebody else whose wallet fits.” Erika Jayne asks, “You think you’re bigger than her?” To which Sutton adds “I think my wallet is.” Wow, these two arguments alone feel out of character for Sutton, especially with the high-intensity insults. I do not like this side of the Georgia Peach.
Sutton Stracke is making enemies left and right
As if things couldn’t possibly get any worse for Sutton, they do. The next clip shows the ladies on a catamaran in St. Lucia. Erika once again is speaking her peace to Sutton, noting “You pose as a friend then often times work as an enemy.” The Pretty Mess singer could be hinting at Sutton’s ability to switch teams. The mother of two looks furious as she whips around to Erika, yelling, “What do you want from me?” I don’t know what is going on with our Sutton, but it doesn’t look good.
Her mean-spirited attacks aren’t going to win her fan-favorite awards. She could end up losing the audience with her high and mighty attitude. Sutton must feel backed into a corner to snap back at Erika like that. As for her issues with Dorit, I think both women’s barks are worse than their bites. Dorit has been activated since the premiere and is taking no prisoners. Sutton’s helping of advice might just not be want Dorit wants to hear at this moment. Thankfully Sutton does have one saving grace: Jennifer Tilly. After the outburst, the poker champion tries to lighten the mood by saying, “Last week on the crazy yacht from hell.” At this point, Chucky might be better behaved than Sutton.
Sutton Stracke might need some grace
The midseason trailer for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills showed an extremely awkward scene between Sutton’s mother and Garcelle Beauvais. Viewers first met Reba Brown back in 2022 when Sutton filmed a lunch with her mother at the Isle of Palms. As viewers learned, Sutton’s father committed suicide. The socialite has always considered her father a lost parent, while Reba feels very differently. On more than one occasion, Sutton has expressed a desire for Reba’s approval. Yet she rarely seems to get it.
During the recent trip back to Augusta, Garcelle tried to bring this up to Reba, who quickly shut the conversation down. The Coming to America actor noted, “She would just love to hear you say that you love her too.” Reba looked highly insulted, replying, “I don’t think that’s any of your business.” Could it be that Sutton just never learned how to properly express herself? Only time will tell if the second half of Season 14 will be her downfall. But I hope Sutton can hold it together.
