Garcelle Beauvais has opened up about her awkward one-on-one conversation with Sutton Stracke’s mom, Reba, following Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The discussion, which took place in Augusta, Georgia, left Garcelle surprised by Reba’s blunt responses, especially when she was shut down for suggesting that Sutton desired more respect and approval from her mother.
Garcelle’s Surprising Conversation with Reba
On the February 11 episode of the RHOBH: After Show, Garcelle admitted she was caught off guard by Reba’s straightforwardness. Sutton had warned her that her mother wasn’t particularly fond of Garcelle, but the exchange still left an impact.
“I was surprised by her candor,” Garcelle reflected. “Sutton had warned me but I thought I came very soft, [saying], ‘I love your daughter, we’re such good friends.’ But she’s like, ‘That is none of your business.’”
Despite Reba’s firm response, Garcelle did her best to keep a “straight face” throughout the conversation. She also conceded that Reba’s statement was likely true — her relationship with Sutton might not have been any of her business.
“But I really enjoyed Reba because she stayed true to who she is no matter what, whether we were being nice, it didn’t matter,” Garcelle continued, acknowledging Reba’s unwavering attitude.
Kyle Richards Weighs In on Reba’s Behavior
In her own segment of the RHOBH: After Show, Kyle Richards shared her perspective on Reba’s treatment of Garcelle, suggesting that Reba had never been particularly fond of Garcelle from the outset.
“It just felt like Reba did not like Garcelle from the get-go,” Kyle explained. “But at least she was able to laugh about it. I’m glad it wasn’t me. I would’ve been like, ‘Time to go.’ She’s got Garcelle working hard to try to win her over.”
Kyle’s comments echoed the tension viewers saw on the show, as Garcelle, despite her polite gestures, seemed to be struggling to break through Reba’s tough exterior. In a previous episode, Garcelle had arrived in Sutton’s hometown with gifts, including a scarf for Reba, but the gesture didn’t go over as well as she had hoped.

Despite the rocky start, Garcelle revealed that as time passed, Reba’s attitude toward her softened. “I was like, ‘Give me that scarf, b*tch, I’m out of here,’ and then towards the end, she was like, ‘If I come to LA, will Garcelle pick me up at the airport?’” Garcelle recalled, noting the shift in Reba’s tone.
However, Sutton offered a different take on Reba’s comment, suggesting that her mother may have made the offer knowing Garcelle likely wouldn’t be the one to pick her up. “She knows I’m not going to,” Sutton quipped, implying that Reba’s remark might have been made in jest.
