Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker Sued For $154K Over Unpaid Rent
Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, are facing legal trouble regarding their Atlanta-based restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood. The couple has been hit with a lawsuit from their landlord, Montego Pacific Inc., alleging that they owe a substantial amount in unpaid rent and other related costs.

Landlord Claims Overdue Payments and Additional Fees
According to the lawsuit, filed Monday in Fulton County State Court, Montego claims that the restaurant has fallen behind on its lease payments, accumulating a debt of $154,139.17 in overdue rent. Additionally, the complaint states that Blaze Steak & Seafood is responsible for an extra $56,495.75 in repair costs and a 10% overhead fee, exclusive of interest.

Interest Accumulating on Unpaid Balance
The legal filing further alleges that Kandi has breached her lease agreement and, as a result, must also pay an additional $12,083.50 per month in interest until the outstanding rent is fully paid. Montego Pacific Inc. is pushing for immediate payment, giving Kandi and her restaurant 10 days to resolve the balance before pursuing further legal action.

Burruss and Tucker’s Expanding Restaurant Ventures
Kandi Burruss, best known for her long-running role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, launched Blaze Steak & Seafood in 2020 alongside her husband. The upscale steakhouse is located in southwest Atlanta and is part of the couple’s growing restaurant empire. In addition to Blaze, they also own Old Lady Gang, a popular soul food restaurant they opened in Castleberry Hill in 2017.

Despite the current financial dispute, Blaze Steak & Seafood has continued to maintain a strong reputation within the local dining scene. In late 2023, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the restaurant earned a health inspection score of 93 from the Georgia Department of Public Health, demonstrating a commitment to food safety and quality.
No Public Response Yet From Burruss or Legal Team
As of now, neither Kandi Burruss nor her legal representatives have publicly commented on the lawsuit. The legal documents outline that Montego Pacific Inc. has provided a short window for payment before seeking further action in court.
