New reports say there may finally be movement on finalizing a cast for The Real Housewives of New Jersey. One of the ladies who could be returning to the long-running series is none other than Dolores Catania. Now, the Jersey-based philanthropist and entrepreneur is opening up in a new interview about being one of the first Housewives to discuss taking Ozempic, what makes her relationship with Paul Connell work, and much more.
There has been a longstanding conversation about Dolores’ relationship with Paul and when and if they will get married. Dolores has said that she is completely happy with him — with or without a ring.
Recently, Dolores sat down for an interview with Hello Magazine, where she discussed quite a bit about her life and relationship with Paul. One of the first topics that arose concerned her use of Ozempic. The interviewer highlighted how Dolores was one of the first Housewives to discuss it openly.
According to Dolores, “I kind of think I broke the seal on being honest about it. With Ozempic [it] has been a life changer for me and my boyfriend Paul, who lost 60 pounds. He no longer takes a certain blood pressure medication and it’s been really positive.”
She went on, “There are side effects like nausea, but you take a pill for that. I personally like it. I know it’s time for me to wean myself off or go on a lower dose, but doctors have said there’s not really anything wrong with staying on it. You must always go through a real doctor though who knows what they are doing. Research is everything. ”
From there, they began to discuss her love life a bit more. First, she revealed her love for Valentine’s Day. “Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday! I like hearts. I like love. I like all of that kind of stuff, so he better come up with something good. I like to be surprised,” she said.
Regarding what makes their relationship work, Dolores explained, “I like that he’s Irish. He’s from Dublin and he’s very good-looking. He’s cute. He’s funny. I would say compromise is the most important thing for a successful relationship.”
The interviewer also asked if Dolores expects a proposal this year since she and Paul are in such a great place. The RHONJ star responded, “No. It’s so funny because a lot of people are always talking about marriage. They want to see you get married. But that’s not my goal. My goal is to be in a relationship that’s peaceful and loving and where you grow together and then maybe marriage comes along further down the road. I’ve been divorced for 26 years.”
She continued, “I’m not against marriage, especially for younger women, but I’m older now and our lives are so easy the way things are going. It’s a harmonious relationship. We get along, we’re happy. And as I say, if marriage comes along down the road then that’s fine and I’m sure I’ll be happy, but I’m okay with the way things are now, too.”
Dolores and Paul were also recently on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, where they discussed the status of Paul’s ongoing divorce. Notably, this is one of the biggest reasons they have not moved forward with marriage.
First, Jeff mentioned how happy they seem together and questioned why there is so much pressure from the fans of RHONJ for them to get married. She explained, “We support each other. We get along. We do things together, and we’re happy with the way things are.”
Paul then chimed in, “You get engaged, and they want you to get married the next day. It’s just the way it is. You just have to get used to that.”
Dolores added, “I think the intentions are good. Like, they’re not busting my chops. They’re not like, ‘Oh, you’re not getting married.’ For them, that’s what they would want for me.”
The conversation went on, and Paul mentioned his divorce. “The upside of it is that my date is set for my divorce to be finalized, which is next week,” he said.
In the end, Dolores brought up how many people hold it against her that Paul is still legally married. However, she insisted that she doesn’t care what people say.
