Will Arsenal Part Ways with ‘Incredible’ Jakub Kiwior This Summer?

As transfer season heats up, Arsenal fans are left wondering about the future of one of their standout defenders, Jakub Kiwior. Following a series of impressive performances due to a key injury in the squad, Kiwior has emerged as an invaluable asset to the Gunners, leading many to question if Arsenal will be willing to sell him.

Reports indicate that Arsenal have set a significant price tag of €35 million (£30 million) for the Polish international, who has caught the attention of Serie A giants Napoli. Kiwior, who has notably filled in for the injured Gabriel Magalhaes, has proven his worth, raising his stock significantly in recent months.

The 25-year-old defender, initially a backup at Arsenal, showed remarkable resilience and skill during crucial matches, especially in fixtures like the recent London derby against Tottenham where Arsenal triumphed 3-2. His ability to play both centre-back and left-back makes him an attractive proposition for several clubs, including Juventus and AC Milan who have also shown interest in the player.

Despite the interest from Naples, Kiwior faces a dilemma: while he is undoubtedly good enough to start week-in, week-out, leaving a title-chasing side may be challenging. With Arsenal aiming for glory in both the Premier League and Champions League next season, Kiwior must weigh his options carefully.

Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, is reportedly keen to retain Kiwior as he plays a vital role within a squad needing depth. The club is aware that a summer departure without a solid replacement could jeopardise their defensive stability as they aim for trophies.

"His performances against teams like Real Madrid prove he can compete at the highest level," an insider commented, highlighting Kiwior's potential to continue developing as a key player. However, if the Gunners do decide to cash in on him, the profit from his sale would mark a success for the club, given he was initially purchased for just £19.5 million from Spezia.
