RHOSLC’s Mary Cosby Files $6.3M Lawsuit Against Church Leaders – Shocking Allegations Revealed!

Before her Bravo fame, Mary was vice president of her husband Robert Cosby’s church.

While Mary usually criticizes her co-stars in a humorous way, in September 2024 she proved that she does not mean well for the church she co-leads with her husband Robert Cosby. The Bravo star attracted additional attention when her lawsuit against her church’s leaders became public.

Here’s what you should know about Mary’s lawsuit.

Mary Cosby filed a lawsuit against her church’s former company in September 2024.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Mary and Robert Lawsuit filed against two executives over their church’s for-profit financial business. The couple is vice president and president of their church, Pentecostal Church of the Temple of FaithAnnie Johnson and Shawn Turner, and the company they worked closely with, United Security Financial. Johnson is a former member of Faith Temple and served as president of USF, and Turner is the office’s secretary.

Mary and Robert claimed in the lawsuit that Johnson and Turner “embezzled church funds for personal purposes by taking out loans against Faith Temple property” and allegedly profited from a loan that used Robert’s forged signature. The couple also said Johnson allegedly took money from the church’s tithes and donations and transferred it to their accounts.

The lawsuit also said Johnson was known to use intimidation tactics such as “intimidation, threats, verbal abuse, racial degradation and physical abuse” to cash USF checks and give the money directly to her.

Johnson and Turner are also charged with allegedly illegally demolishing a radio station that was allegedly purchased with church funds in 1991.

Johnson is said to have put her name on the deed instead of Faith Temple or USF and remained with the station until it closed in 2017. The radio station was mentioned to prove the Cosbys’ claim that Johnson and Turner “aided” each other in embezzling Faith Temple funds.

Mary Cosby and her husband are accused of running a cult-like church.

While Mary plans to get back everything that was allegedly stolen from her and her husband, the couple has become accustomed to having their church in the press. In 2022 RHOSLC OG skipped the Season 2 reunion and left the show the following season. Mary reportedly did not film the reunion to avoid questions about whether her church was a cult or to discuss “racially offensive remarks” she made during the season.

The church’s vice president also appeared to have closed Faith Temple after facing backlash this season. In January 2022, fans noticed that the church had removed its signs and stated on its website that it was closing due to COVID-19. However, Mary’s family, including her estranged mother, said in several interviews that her and Robert’s church was a cult and claimed Mary was a “victim” of her husband’s alleged actions. Today, Faith Temple remains closed, according to the church. Howling Page.

Mary inherited the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church and became First Lady upon her grandmother’s death – according to the will – as well as her fortune and house. However, the inheritance was conditioned on Mary marrying Robert, her grandmother’s second husband.
