Meghan King Opens Up About Her Current Relationship with Alexis Bellino After John Janssen Drama

It appears Meghan King and Alexis Bellino are back on good terms.

As you might remember, The Real Housewives of Orange County alums got into a little tiff back in January when Meghan expressed concerns over Alexis’ relationship with John Janssen. Meghan, who held an orange from seasons 10-12, addressed the past drama in an interview with Us Weekly, just days after Alexis and John confirmed their engagement.

Meghan King questioned Alexis Bellino & John Janssen’s relationship

“When I first found out they were together, I was initially a little bit apprehensive about the relationship,” Meghan told the outlet. “But when I saw she got engaged, I actually reached out to her and told her congratulations because she was really upset with me.”

She continued: “I said I was apprehensive or something, and she got really upset with me. So her interpretation was that I was basically exploiting her situation in the press in order to get myself the press or something. That’s not what happened, but the optics for her were that and it hurt her feelings.”

What did Meghan say about John?

Meghan was referring to her Page Six studio appearance in late January, when she shared a text exchange between her and Alexis.

“[Alexis] just said, ‘Thank you for your love and support,’ because I was texting her like, ‘Be careful –– it seems like [John’s] love-bombing,” Meghan recalled at the time. “There might be some red flags in the way that John approaches a relationship.”

Alexis Bellino responds to Meghan’s comments about John

Alexis wasn’t exactly thrilled with the comments and accused Meghan of using her and John’s relationship for media coverage. The OC mom, who returned in a “friend of” role in RHOC Season 18, made the allegations in a June episode of Two Ts in a Pod, hosted by RHOC’s Tamra Judge and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp.

“I just hate giving any of these people [who] used to be my friends, or who thought they were my friends, [who] decide they want to do that and do it in the media, who are looking for a moment in the spotlight,” Alexis said. “If you’re my true friend and you’re worried about somebody love bombing me, pick up the f-cking phone and call me and text me, ‘cause you have my number.”

Meghan insists she wants Alexis “to be happy”

Meghan told Us Weekly that Alexis’ “emotional response” made sense, which is why she decided to call her up and bury the hatchet. Meghan said she had apologized to her longtime friend and they are now in a much better place.

“[Alexis’ said, ‘Thank you so much,’” she continued. “And honestly, I just want her to be happy… They’ve been together for a bit and that’s their business. They’re not hurting anybody, so to each their own.”
