Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen pumped the breaks on their nearly five-year relationship amid filming on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 last year. But, where do they stand now?
After Gina, 40, admitted that she wanted to live separately from Travis amid his years-long court battle with his ex-wife, Meghan Mullen, the mother of three offered a few updates on her and Travis’ romance, post-filming.
“I feel like in my home it’s me, Travis, six kids, and Travis’ baggage,” Gina admitted during a cast confessional on the premiere episode of RHOC. “And it’s too much.”
Gina also felt her three children, Sienna, Nicholas, and Luca, who she shares with her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, needed more space.
“They need privacy,” she explained, adding that Travis’ three kids were also outgrowing her $659,000 home. “We went and we looked at houses, and we looked at what it would take to get into a house the size of our family, and we can’t afford it. Honestly, my gut is telling me that we need to live separately and see where the chips land.”
After Gina’s castmates wondered if her desire to live away from Travis signaled an impending split, she acknowledged the possibility.
“I don’t ever want to break his heart, and I don’t want to live without him. But I know inside that if I don’t try this, then I’m going to lose him,” she noted. “It sucks.”
However, months later, after wrapping production during the airing season, Gina confirmed she and Travis were still together in a series of photos and videos shared on her Instagram page.
In her most recent post with Travis, Gina took fans inside a recent trip to Mexico for a friend’s 40th birthday.
“[Travis] and I had the absolute most amazing time celebrating our dear friend [Lisa Rogers’] 40th birthday this past week in [Puerto Vallarta] !! Despite not getting tipsy…. I still managed to have the most fun I’ve had in a while! Thank you friends for the epic trip!!!” Gina shared with her Instagram video on July 8.
And more recently, on August 16, Gina took to her Instagram page to share a post celebrating her five-year anniversary with Travis.
“I love you @travis.mullen.85 #5years #anniversary #happyanniversary,” wrote Gina.
Another recent post served as a Father’s Day tribute to Travis.
“I love you Travis Mullen,” Gina wrote with a video in June. “[Thank you] for being a rock for your children always and for showing them your love has no boundaries. For staying true to the course despite enduring things no parent should ever be put through. You are a true example. And obviously, thank you for being the best bonus dad EVER.”
As Gina and Travis continue to enjoy their relationship, Travis recently scored a bit of a win in court. Meghan was ordered to adhere to any drug test he requests, as long as it is for a good reason and not made out of spite. The two were also told to refrain from trash-talking the other in front of their kids.
At the same time, the former couple settled their restraining order case.
