Despite being newer, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has taken the fans by storm, and season 5 is long awaited. The series began in 2020, introducing six new ladies to the franchise: Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, and Jen Shah. Their first season included a lot of interesting topics that The Real Housewives franchise has never really focused on before, such as the Mormon religion, how religion plays into their lives, and how a woman (Mary) married her step-grandfather. RHOSLC was a new type of Housewives that viewers were eager to know more about.
RHOSLC season 1 was captivating, but season 2 is one of the best seasons in the franchise, let alone the series. During RHOSLC season 2, Jen got a phone call from her husband, Sharrieff Shah, while in a sprinter van getting ready to leave for a trip to Aspen and abruptly left. Shortly after Jen left, the van was swarmed by the FBI, looking to arrest her. The cast was visibly shaken by the random search and confused. After finally leaving to head to Aspen, Whitney does a quick Google search and finds out Jen was arrested for fraud and money laundering, changing RHOSLC forever.

RHOSLC season 5 has been confirmed by Bravo, along with a release date and a trailer. RHOSLC season 4 was doing fantastic last year in terms of ratings and fan praise, so it’s not surprising that Bravo renewed the show for a fifth season. Even though the ratings aren’t what they used to be (TV Deets revealed that they have gone from an average of 700,000 viewers to under 500,000), RHOSLC is still popular. However, judging by the new trailer, RHOSLC season 5 may top season 4.
All the ladies were at BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas last year (except for Mary), which was another good sign that RHOSLC season 5 was underway. The women have also all appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, including Mary. This is another clear sign that the show is doing well and would likely return for another season, which it did.

Since RHOSLC season 1, the show has aired towards the end of the year. RHOSLC season 1 aired mid-November 2020, while seasons 2-4 have premiered at the beginning or the end of September. RHOSLC season 5 will premiere on September 18, so it’s following the same patterns as seasons prior. Since season 2, RHOSLC has been premiering sometime in September, so it seems the series will continue with this timeline for seasons to come.

Since RHOSLC season 4 has received a lot of positive reception from viewers, the full cast will likely return. RHOSLC season 4 included original cast members Heather, Whitney, Meredith, and Lisa, along with Angie Katsanevas, who was a friend of during season 3 and newbie at the time, Monica Garcia. RHOSLC season 4 also saw the return of Mary, who was a full-time cast member from seasons 1-2, returned as a friend of the cast last season. For RHOSLC season 5, the cast has barely changed but made a few tweaks.
Returning for RHOSLC season 5 are Heather, Whitney, Meredith, Lisa, and Angie. Also returning as a full-time cast member is Mary, which is shocking as she seemed over the show. New cast member Bronwyn Newport is also joining as a full-time cast member, with Meili Workman and Britani Bateman as friends of the ladies. Meili is close friends with Whitney, while Britani is friendly with Heather.

Past seasons of the series all started filming around January or February and completed filming sometime in April or May. Seeing as RHOSLC season 5 will premiere in September like seasons past, it’s likely RHOSLC season 5 began filming at the start of 2024 and ended sometime in the Spring. Lisa interviewed with US Weekly back in February, where she spoke about filming RHOSLC at the time. She said that she and the ladies were still fighting with each other, but unlike the other shows, they don’t fake anything.

The trailer for RHOSLC season 5 was released on August 19, and it was quite an explosive trailer. It begins with the cameras panning to what seems like the women’s homes with Heather and Whitney seemingly yelling about betrayal and proof. It continues with the other women yelling at each other, calling each other fake, a liar, and much more. Then it goes into the fun and games portion, with the women all going to dinner as Lisa Barlow. The re-introduction of Mary begins with her on a zipline and Whitney admitting she loves this new Mary she is getting to know.
Newbie Bronwyn is finally introduced, and she is shown walking up to the ladies with a huge red coat that’s shaped like a heart. Lisa is the one to introduce her to the group as her friend, complimenting her personality and her style. Heather is then shown in a confessional saying she doesn’t trust Bronwyn. Mary is then having a heart-to-heart with her son, Robert Cosby Junior, where they both start tearing up. Sticking with the kids’ theme, Heather and Angie discuss how Angie’s daughter needs her and doesn’t “game all day,” which Lisa takes as a dig at her parenting.
Lisa then calls out Angie for not being a good friend, which is interrupted by a Meredith and Mary fight. Meredith calls out Mary for using her, while Mary calls Meredith a victim. This leads to a fight at Mary’s house, where Mary asks Meredith to leave while Meredith is wearing a wig that has since gone viral online. Whitney and Lisa’s feud from last season continues this season, with Lisa almost getting physical with her. The trailer ends with Heather suspecting that there is a recording device in her room. So far, RHOSLC season 5 looks like a must-watch.
