Teresa Giudice’s RHONJ Future in Limbo as Casting Decisions Stall

Frank Catania may have recently claimed that Teresa Giudice was “asked to leave” The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But, according to a new report, her role in the series is “up in the air.”

Following a disastrous 14th season of the Bravo series, which reached an all-time series low in ratings, an insider is denying Frank’s allegation about Teresa, 52, and suggesting that no decisions have been made regarding who will stay and who will go on Season 15.

According to an August 16 report from TMZ, production has no plans to consider their next move for the show until early next year.

As RHONJ fans well know, Bravo made the unconventional decision of canceling the series’ reunion earlier this summer amid a cast divide prompted by Teresa’s refusal to film with her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, 45. It then hosted a finale watch party for the cast, which aired last week as the season’s conclusion.

While rumors have been swirling in regard to a possible cancelation of the series, or a full reboot, Andy Cohen, 56, told Entertainment Tonight earlier this week that fans “will get news no time soon.”

“We’re gonna take our time. We’re in no rush. You have to wait for great things,” he revealed.

Earlier this month, while appearing on the Lisa Alastuey Podcast, Frank spoke of Teresa’s potential exit from RHONJ, admitting that he didn’t feel she’d be gone from the spotlight for long.

“I’ve heard the same thing about Teresa being asked to leave, as opposed to being fired,” he stated. “But it’s a shame because, you know, I see Teresa landing someplace. Because Teresa, across all the franchises, is probably the most recognizable Housewife in the world.”

While Frank acknowledged Teresa’s status in the world of Bravo, he also noted that today’s Teresa is much different from the Teresa he once knew.

“She’s changed, in my opinion, she has changed since [Luis Ruelas]’s been around. She’s just not herself. Not the Teresa I grew up with,” he explained.

As for his thoughts on the series’ future, Frank suspected Bravo would do a partial reboot.

“I suspect that they are going to be dropping off some people and bringing additional new people in as well as keeping some people on,” he said. “But you can’t continue the way we’re doing it now because right now, it is basically two separate shows.”
