Rachel Fuda‘s future on The Real Housewives of New Jersey is uncertain, as massive changes are expected. However, the star has some incredible news: She and her husband, John Fuda, have announced that they are expanding their family with a new baby. Rachel made the announcement the same night as the show’s non-reunion reunion.
Rachel, 33, and John, 37, have been married since 2017. The couple currently has three kids. They have two daughters, one who’s two and another who’s four. They also have a 17-year-old son from one of John’s previous relationships that Rachel adopted. Fans first got to know the family on season 13 of RHONJ.
People magazine got the exclusive on Rachel and John expecting a new bundle of joy. The outlet took to Instagram to make the announcement, which included an adorable photo shoot with the entire family. The post reads, “Rachel Fuda and John Fuda are expanding their family! 💕 ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ couple is expecting a new baby, an addition who will join their three other kids. ‘We’re so excited,’ Rachel says exclusively of her happy news. ‘We’re ready to be a party of six!’”
Rachel also made an emotional post of her own, reflecting on how much being a mother has always meant to her. She says in the post, “When I was a little girl, I dreamt of my life as a mother, filling my future home with family and love. I’m forever grateful to God for allowing me to live my dream every day. With full hearts, we are counting our many blessings as we excitedly anticipate becoming a family of 6. 🩷 The Fuda Family”
The RHONJ star also spoke exclusively to People and said that she and John felt their family was incomplete. She says, “We’re so excited. We’re ready to be a party of six!”
Rachel continues, “John and I always felt like our family wasn’t complete. We actually have a table in my kitchen, and when we sit down for dinner, there’s one empty chair. And we always kind of looked at each other like, ‘Oh, it’d be nice to fill that seat.’”
Rachel goes on, “So we always had the room for one more in our home and in our hearts, and we’re both just so happy to be welcoming another baby into the family. It felt like it was time.”
Rachel also shares that they started IVF once filming stopped for season 14. She then details what the process of doing IVF again was like.
According to Rachel, “There’s so many things that have to go right when you’re going through IVF, and this time around, there were a lot of roadblocks for us. It took a couple of months of us working with my doctor to figure out when this could actually happen for us. And it was really frustrating because it just kept getting delayed.”
She then says that things weren’t looking good for a while and she was ready to give up. However, the situation took a turn for the better.
“I thought, ‘This is my last shot. If this doesn’t work, we’re done. Because first of all, it costs a lot of money. But second of all, you’re on all these medications that just throw your body off. I was hormonal, breaking out so bad, tired, and on edge; my mood was going up, down, up, down. I just felt like, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ “
Rachel continues, “They make you wait 10 days for your blood test, but I had to know, so I took a test, and it came back positive. And then I was like, ‘Well, let me not say anything to John, just in case God forbid it’s a false positive. ‘So I wait until I got the call and then surprised him with the happy news.”
She then shares how she told John they were expecting.
“I made a little box for John of a little baby’s outfit, and I put the pregnancy test in there. But I put all of it inside of a Chanel box and I think he was mad at first when I gave it to him because he thought that I bought something for him at Chanel. He was kind of confused!“
She continues, “Our girls were there and once he pulled out the pregnancy test he was like, ‘Oh my God, we’re having a baby!‘ And there girls were so excited.“
Naturally, some of Rachel’s cast members celebrated the announcement online. Dolores Catania left kind words, writing, “So exciting,” along with a heart emoji.
Joe Gorga, Melissa Gorga, and Danielle Cabral also took to Instagram to show their support and to congratulate Rachel and John.
