Luann de Lesseps Reveals Betrayal: ‘Bethenny Used Her Daughter to Hurt Me’

Turns out, Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel are not great, as after running into each other and making things nice this weekend, Luann is now feeling Jovani “hurt,” thinking that perhaps, Bethenny might have “used her daughter to get to” her. To explain, these Real Housewives of New York alums just reunited at a party in the Hamptons. Stressing that her daughter Bryn Hoppy is a huge fan of Luann’s, Bethenny sent her daughter over for a picture. Bethenny then uploaded a video of her girl, happily posing with the former Countess.

In turn, Luann posted up as well. Like the lemming that I am, I drank this in, thinking that perhaps hell had frozen over. I mean, Bethenny herself said this same sentence, so it tracked. Yet, in thinking about this whole ordeal after the fact, the math just wasn’t math’ing for Luann, and now, she’s calling this entire interaction out.

Is it friendship, or is it a content grab?

After their unexpected run-in, Bethenny went online and posted a sweet collage of photos, alongside a video of her time spent with Luann. She captioned her post with a nod to one of Luann’s iconic sayings, writing “A bougie Hamptons party by day… tonight it’s a cabaret… Hell hath frozen over and I am being cool and not uncool…”

Everyone looked so happy. So happy, that just a few minutes ago, I reported that these two women were fine. But in the world of reality television, time moves quickly. Because already, they are indeed back to not being fine.

After posting about their reunion, Bethenny failed to unblock Luann from her socials. In speaking to US Weekly about this, Luann now realizes that something might be amiss here. “After watching Bethenny’s video and still being blocked by her on social media, I realize she just used her daughter to get to me,“ she explained. Therefore, Luann now feels like this “wasn’t a genuine reconnection” after all.

Why can we never get nice things?

The Real Housewives of New York is streaming over on Peacock.
