Erin Lichy Opens Up About Mental Health Break, Teases ‘Explosive’ New ‘RHONY’ Season

Erin Lichy Reveals Need for Mental Break, Describes New ‘RHONY’ Season as ‘Explosive’

Erin Lichy, star of The Real Housewives of New York City, recently discussed the intense experience of wrapping up Season 15 of the show.

Speaking to Us Weekly at the Pride Weekend kickoff party hosted by DJ Eliad Cohen at Dimes in the Gansevoort Hotel, Erin shared her immediate plans for relaxation following the hectic filming schedule.

“I [will] go out to the Hamptons and immediately disconnect. I turn off my phone,” Erin, 36, revealed. “This week I’m working [in Manhattan] and I go out tomorrow morning and I will disconnect. I need to be one-on-one with my friends, [and] my birthday is in a couple of days. I need me time.”

Following a cast reboot in Season 14, Erin returned to join co-stars Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank, Brynn Whitfield, and newcomer Racquel Chevremont who will receive her first “apple” this season.

While the premiere date remains under wraps, Lichy teased the upcoming episodes: “I can say it’s explosive and dramatic,” she said. “I need a break mentally after all of that.”

The new season promises to deliver more than its fair share of intrigue, as Lichy hinted at some intense developments.

“There will also be some ‘dirty s—t’ playing out on season 15. I really enjoy filming and I really enjoy it when we’re having fun and we’re in a good group, but I don’t enjoy it when things get dirty,” Erin noted.

Andy Cohen, the show’s executive producer, also spoke highly of the upcoming season during a May interview. “I was in a meeting today, kind of a status report about what’s going on,” Andy, 55, said. “I’m really excited.”

Outside of her TV life, Erin is gearing up for a summer spent with her family. She and her husband, Abe Lichy, are parents to sons Levi, 9, Elijah, 4, and daughter Layla, 7.

Erin humorously recounted her children’s refusal to adhere to bedtime during the longer days of summer.

“[They often say,] ‘Mommy, I’m not going to sleep because it’s still blue sky and even though you’re telling me it’s 7:00 and it’s bedtime, I’m not going to sleep,’” she stated. “I’m like, ‘F—king summer.’”

Erin also expressed her enthusiasm for Pride Month, a time she holds in high regard.

“For me, Pride Month is one of the best months,” Lichy gushed. “Ever since I was on a float in the Pride parade, I thought I needed to be more involved. [Co-hosting DJ Eliad’s party] is a no-brainer.”
