RHONY star and mother of two daughters, Kelly Bensimon, has called off her wedding to financier Scott Litner on June 25. In a statement to Page Six, published on June 25, 2024, she called her daughters her priority and called the wedding off four days before the ceremony on June 29.
In the statement to Page Six, she revealed:
“I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding.”
While speaking to ET in an article published on June 26, Kelly mentioned that Scott’s disagreement with signing a prenup is also a reason behind calling off the wedding.
“He thought that I would enter this union without legal protection in place, that I would leave everything to faith. But I’ve worked really, really, hard as a single mother and have always made smart decisions for myself and my family, and that will continue,” Kelly shared.
During a conversation with Interview Magazine this month, Bensimon revealed the two met at a Rangers game. Scott Litner came with his nephew while she was with her younger daughter, Teddy.
Kelly Bensimon’s children explored
Kelly Bensimon joined the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City in its second season. She has two daughters, Sea Louise Bensimon, 26, and Thaddeus “Teddy” Bensimon, 24, whom she shares with her ex-husband Gilles Francis Charles Bensimon.
Kelly often talks about her daughters publicly and shares that she’s very close to them. In 2019, while speaking to Page Six, Kelly revealed that she misses her two daughters, who both moved out for University.
“I wish my kids are going to be home for Valentine’s, but they are both in college and I am an empty nester. I am lonely without them. I miss my girls so much. I mean 20 years of raising girls on your own and then all of a sudden poof – they’re gone! They’re flying the coop,” said Kelly.
Before calling off the wedding, Kelly Bensimon enjoyed a Bachelorette trip with her daughters in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. While talking about the trip in a June interview with People, Kelly said:
“The girls and I are leaving for Sandals next week, so I’m super excited about that. It’s going to be so fun.”
She also mentioned they plan to have their “own little bachelorette vibe going” and that she loves spending time with them. The trio sported coordinating outfits, long pink dresses at the beach, and matching robes as they headed to the spa.
While speaking to PEOPLE about her calling off the wedding, Kelly Bensimon said her decision is “nobody’s business” and that she was “disappointed by the turn of events.”
