PK Reveals How Long He’s Been Sober Amid Split from Dorit: “Grateful and Proud”

Dorit Kemsley’s husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, celebrated Father’s Day 2024 by achieving a major milestone: He’s officially six months sober.

PK made the announcement in an Instagram post on June 16, giving a shoutout to his five children in the process. In case you need a refresher, PK and Dorit have two children together — 10-year-old Jagger Kemsley and 8-year-old Phoenix Kemsley — but before he met The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member in 2011, he was married to his ex-wife, Loretta Gold, and they had three children together — daughters Atlanta and Tatum, and son Daniel.

In PK’s Instagram post, he shared a screengrab that read, “You’ve been sober for…” followed by various measurements of time, from 6.06 months to 4,453 hours. The caption read, “On Father’s Day the greatest gift I can give my 5 kids is to remain sober … grateful and proud to say this weekend I am 6 months … Happy Father’s Day to all you great dads out there doing your best.”

Dorit Kemsley Discussed PK’s Drinking at the RHOBH Season 13 Reunion

PK’s announcement comes after Dorit first opened up about his drinking during the RHOBH Season 13 reunion back in March.

“After [filming on Season 13] wrapped, things got progressively worse and him and I were at probably an all-time bad,” Dorit explained. “[Boy] George was in town for two weeks in L.A. and he was staying with George in the hotel.”

“PK was drinking a lot — and he’s a drinker — [but] I just think it’s difficult to have clear-headed conversations when he’s drinking so much,” Dorit continued.

As such, PK decided to give up drinking. “He’s actually been sober for, I think, 49 days,” Dorit said at the time of the reunion taping in January. “That was a very pivotal moment so things are, knock on wood, as good as they can possibly be.”

Are Dorit Kemsley and PK together?

Dorit and PK announced their separation in a joint statement on May 9 and have yet to publicly reconcile.

“We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage,” the statement began. “We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together.”

“To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children,” the statement continued. “We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey. With love, Dorit and PK.”

Dorit and PK’s Split Will Play Out on RHOBH Season 14

Following the news that Dorit is set to return alongside her fellow ‘Wives Kyle Richards, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Erika Jayne — and be joined by newcomer Bozoma Saint John as well as friends Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly — for RHOBH Season 14, several cast members have teased what’s to come for her and PK.

For example, on May 30, Kyle was asked if she plans to question Dorit and PK’s marriage the same way Dorit questioned her and Mauricio Umansky’s relationship on Season 13. Kyle’s response? “Not like she did,” she said. “But, you know, I hope to eventually be able to be there for her. That would be nice [but] right now we have things, obviously, to work through.”

Sutton, for her part, teased of RHOBH Season 14, “I think right now we’re in the midst of a lot of relationship drama from PK and Dorit and Kyle and Mauricio, and it’s kind of sad drama.”

“So, we’ll see how that plays out,” Sutton continued. “I think friendship-wise all of us are a bit on thin ice. All of us. So I hope that we can see a lot of reparation and that we can see friendship, camaraderie.”
