Kevin Durant Roasts Former Teammate Amid Beef With LeBron James

Former NBA center Kendrick Perkins is one of ESPN’s most featured analysts. Following his 14-year NBA career, Perkins became a media member where his analysis and hot takes often spark controversy.

Recently calling out Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for his comments about Dallas Maverick star Kyrie Irving, Perkins said, “Here we go again, [LeBron] weaseling his way into somebody else’s moment…This is not about you. Your team is at home. This is about the Mavs and the Celtics, but yet you’re so mad and disappointed that you’re not Kyrie Irving’s running mate anymore. Here we go again.”

Following these comments from Perkins, James reportedly unfollowed the ESPN analyst on X (via NBA alerts on X). While it is unclear if this was coincidental or related to what Perkins said about James, the news went viral on social media.

Responding to the news that James had unfollowed him, Perkins sent out this post on X:

Many fans have been responding to this reaction from Perkins, as his post has already accumulated 2.4M impressions in the last two hours. Perhaps the most notable response to Perkins’ post came from his former teammate Kevin Durant, who called him out in an Instagram comment:

The comment was on a post from Overtime, who also shared the screenshot on X. This is not the first time Durant has taken a shot at Perkins, who he played with on the OKC Thunder, and likely will not be the last time either.
