RHONY alum Bethenny Frankel is detailing how her ex-husband’s family attempted to lure her daughter, Bryn away from her. Bethenny and Jason Hoppy had a contentious ending to their two-year marriage. Their divorce carried on for roughly nine years after calling it quits. Now, she is opening up about some of the trauma she experienced at the hands of Jason’s family. Keep reading for more details.
Bethenny Frankel Claims Ex’s Family Lured Daughter Away
When Bethenny Frankel first fell in love with Jason Hoppy, it seemed like the two were headed for a magical romance. This was all detailed on RHONY with Bethenny learning that she was pregnant. At the same time, she and Jason got engaged and planned to welcome their little one into the world. They even landed a spinoff about their wedding and honeymoon. Bethenny gave birth to their daughter, Bryn in 2010. It was a whirlwind but within two years, they called it quits.

Bethenny fought tooth and nail for what she wanted but the biggest problem was Jason and his family were relentless. Some of this was documented when Bethenny returned in Season 7 of RHONY. She had exited after Season 3 but came back, struggling as she did not have a stable home. Jason lived in her Tribeca apartment and she just wanted to be with her daughter, Bryn. Now, according to Reality Blurb!, it was his parents who were trying to take possession of Bryn repeatedly.
“Every time I would bring Brynn home after school, like [Jason’s] parents would be there and I would just want to have like her there in my bed like snuggling with me. I just wanted to be with her. His parents would come in and they’d have Mickey Mouse and his dad would have a baseball hat with like a ponytail in the back. [Or] were making cookies and you’d smell the cookies and like I couldn’t compete.”
Bethenny Frankel went on to add that she did all that she could to take Bryn away so that she could spend precious, quality time with her. She added:
“That was the torture den. The only, like, friend I had was like getting in the bed late at night, locking my door, and like trying to get a good night’s sleep.”
Finally, Jason’s parents did all that they could to “get” Bryn “away” and eventually, she was the “less favored parent.”
Closer Than Ever
Now that her divorce is finalized, Bethenny Frankel and Bryn are extremely close. They travel endlessly and do fun girl activities. Bethenny shows Bryn with her on TikTok getting their nails done and trying candies. Bryn also has a social media presence like her mother so she gets swag all of the time. It appears that all of the trouble Jason Hoppy’s parents tried to cause did not affect Bryn in the long run. She enjoys time with her mom, they are making memories, and that is all that matters.
