‘Traditional’ Reаl Houѕewiveѕ of New Jerѕey reunіon аxed аs fаns ѕay іt ‘got too toxіc’

It’s not just hearsay, Bravo really is rethinking the format for the Real Housewives of New Jersey season 14 reunion. During RHONJ’s season 13 get-together, Andy Cohen could barely get a word in edgeways as the cast threw wild accusations around and hashed out their long-running rifts.

As if the tensions couldn’t mount anymore, The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 14 came along on May 5. Believe it or not, the drama has actually intensified. Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga’s relationship is “so over,” Melissa suggested Andy “not ask about it” during Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, and she also revealed Margaret Josephs and Jackie Goldschneider are now “enemies.”

Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion

The standard format for The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s reunion has been scrapped this year.

The Bravo network is having a rethink on how season 14 will come to a close, as a “traditional reunion” isn’t happening, exclusively reports People.

The purpose of a reunion is for all the cast members to reflect on the season:

OH NO: Rachel Fuda upset amid adoption journey sudden setback

“A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season final that there is no path forward in that type of setting… So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season.”

‘RHONJ got too toxic’

Judging by fan reaction to the axing of a regular reunion, many people aren’t surprised.

Lots of viewers dub the show “toxic” and some even suggested it had taken a “dark” turn.

One tweeted via X (Twitter): “About freaking time! It was the most toxic franchise ever! Same agenda, same people and newbies wannabes.”

More said: “Andy probably so annoyed just thinking about sitting through another reunion with this cast”

“These “ladies” constantly talk/yell over each other to the point of not being able to detect what they’re saying anyway, so it’s really no big loss.”

One tweeted: “…They got too dirty and personal trying to actually take down people . It’s got too dark cause of it.”

However, some disagreed that it’s been particularly dramatic and said: “Good… the last few seasons have been a snooze. Hopefully they just cancel the whole thing.”

‘Reboot or cancel’

As the move to scrap a standard reunion makes history for RHONJ, fans’ minds are ticking away thinking of what this means for the future of the show.

A fan took to X to say the end of the show was perhaps a long time coming: “Good riddance. It hasn’t been fun for years now. In fact, a lot of the cities in this franchise have passed their golden years.”

More say the show should get a reboot like The Real Housewives of New York City or be axed completely: “Finally what we’ve been asking for the past few seasons.. reboot or cancel.”

Another tweeted: “This show and the online toxicity made it unbearable to watch. A reboot sounds great!”

Weighing up RHONJ’s future, many people think it “should be canceled,” but some people are still focused on what’s left of season 14.

One disappointed fan said: “There’s no point in watching the rest of the season. That’s like watching football all year, then no Super Bowl.”
