Frank Catania and Dolores Catania divorced forever ago. These days though, they’re as thick as thieves, both on Real Housewives of New Jersey and off. This is great for their children, who often get to enjoy holidays and random events together as a still-intact family. Making things even better, Paulie Connell and Brittany Mattessich, their new partners, are all in on this happy little blended family situation as well.
Speaking of Brittany, Frank is about to propose. Here to help him is Dolores. I mean, if he can mock propose to his ex, then surely, he can propose to his new leading lady, right?
Bow down, Frank
In a sneak peek for RHONJ Season 14, Episode 5, Frank and Dolores are seen, dining with their children at one of their regularly scheduled family dinners. Here, Dolores brings up a conversation that had transpired two weeks earlier. In this, Frank explained that he was “going away to Costa Rica. And while we’re there, I was thinking about getting engaged,” he says.
As for how, he wants “a lighted path with roses to a big sign that says ‘will you marry me’ inside a heart.” Dolores and their kids love his idea. They are nothing but happy for Frank and Brittany. Frank then asks if they want to see the ring that just so happens to be in his pocket, which duh, yeah, they do, and they love that as well.
But then, Frank jokes to his ex, telling her to make-believe that she’s Brittany. Other patrons look on, as Frank stands up with the ring and drops down on one knee, right in front of Dolores. From the ground, he asks “Will you marry me?”
Dolores says “Yeah,” and everyone laughs, even their children. They then explain to their surrounding cheer squads that this wasn’t real. Instead, it was just a practice proposal.
Luckily for Frank, we already know Brittany’s answer. She said yes.
As for Dolores, an engagement is likely in her future as well, after Paulie’s divorce officially wraps, that is. Stupid papers.
