Kevin Garnett Is Blowing Up After Kobe Bryant Comparison For Bronny James

In a take that has turned the heads of many, Kevin Garnett said he sees some similarities between Kobe Bryant and Bronny James.

Garnett emphasized that he’s not saying that Bronny is like Kobe or even close. Instead, he pointed out that similar to Kobe, the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has shown the potential to be great much like the legendary Black Mamba.

The former Boston Celtics superstar then made a case for Bronny to get drafted in the upcoming 2024 rookie selection.

“If I am a team bro, I would actually take a chance on that. Because greatness runs through bro’s veins. You got to know at some point, he’s going to have a growth spurt and it’s going to click,” Garnett shared on his Ticket & The Truth podcast with Paul Pierce.

KG added, “[Bryant] had great bones and great makeup to build off of. Bronny shows some of that same make. I’m not calling him young Kobe or none of that, but I’m saying that’s potential.”

Sure enough, fans are split with Kevin Garnett’s take. While some agreed with his remarks, others argued that he’s reaching and exaggerating Bronny’s talent.

“KG drafted at 17. He understand drafted by the right organization that believes in [yo]u cam make [yo]u into something,” a supporter wrote.

A fan furthered, “Finally someone speaking sense and not hating.” Another one said, “Glad to see somebody who actually was good at the game of basketball Say Something real about the kid.”

As mentioned, though, the critics took issue with Garnett’s take.

“Why isn’t this the same narrative of every college player that averaged 5 points a game?????? Why cant every college player that averaged 5 points a game go to the combine an[d] enter the draft an[d] every sports podcaster speak well of them like this???????” one critic exclaimed.

“Is Lebron paying them to say this?????? Is this even a realistic take on Bronny???? If his name was Tim Floyd averaging 5 points a game outta college would they say this or tell him to take his young ass back to school????”

Another observer shared, “This forced Nepotism for a kid who averaged 4ppg in college when you have so many other players who are more ready and don’t have a billionaire father. The NBA is a complete circus now.”

At the end of the day, everything is up to Bronny to prove his doubters wrong. The great thing about the youngster is he’s letting his game do the talking and not letting the outside noise affect him.

For now, it remains to be seen if Bronny will get a shot at the NBA.
