Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd slates the current RHOC season. After picking apart the “iconic-ness” of Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter, Kelly goes in on the storylines included in season 18. In true Kelly style, she doesn’t mince her words: “It’s boring to me.”
Appearing on Vicki Gunvalson and Christian Gray Snow’s podcast, My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast!, this September, Kelly Dodd airs her thoughts on the current RHOC cast. Kelly was a cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County for five seasons. She describes her time on the Bravo series as a “fun and easy job,” but adds there were some “bad” parts.

Kelly Dodd slates RHOC
Giving her take on the current The Real Housewives of Orange County stars, Kelly questions whether the ladies are “iconic.”
She tells the podcast hosts: “They don’t do anything iconic. The only thing that Emily ever did that was iconic was when she says ‘I wanna kill you’ to me.”
Vicki then questions what the current cast “really has going on,” adding: “It’s all about fighting with the other people.
Kelly admits she no longer watches the show: “Emily, I like her. I think she’s more fun than Gina. There’s nothing else happening.”
The former RHOC star says Emily “hasn’t been a practicing lawyer for the seven years I have known her,” before adding how it’s “boring” hearing how Gina is “living in another condo with six kids.”
“They don’t go on awesome trips, they don’t have fabulous lives… it’s boring to me.”
Speaking of the ‘Heather Dubrow calling the paparazzi’ drama, Kelly shares her bemusement at it being a storyline this season.
The trio agreed they “don’t care” with Christian adding it “should’ve been a joke.”
Kelly ‘misses the money the most’
Reflecting on her Real Housewives days, Kelly tells Christian and Vicki how she waved goodbye to a $180,000 check along with the show.
“I miss the money the most, the money was good,” she says.
Christian asks: “You got $60,000 for your first season… that was when you didn’t really care. The money got good?”
Kelly reveals: “Oh, it tripled.”
She adds how she “can’t believe” Emily and Gina made it “longer” than her, as the two ladies are still RHOC cast members now.
