Luann de Lesseps Says Being on RHONY Feels Like a Thrilling Skydive: “I Made It Through!”

It’s been 16 years since Luann de Lesseps first rose to fame as a star of The Real Housewives of New York City. The reality star appeared on all 13 seasons of the hit show alongside co-stars including Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan. Speaking to SiriusXM host LaKendra Tookes, Luann reveals what appearing on the series was really like for her.

Spending decades on reality TV has got to come with many highs and lows but Luann de Lesseps shares how RHONY was similar to the experience of being dropped out of the sky at a great height. Nowadays, the Bravo show features a whole new cast including Sai De Silva, Jenna Lyons, and Erin Lichy. OGs like Luann are still staying relevant, booked, and busy, though, as she tours with her own cabaret show.

Luann compares RHONY to a unique experience

At 59, Countess Luann is the gift that keeps on giving. She may not be appearing in the all-new episodes of RHONY, but she’s appearing in interviews, podcasts, and tours with her very own show.

Appearing on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with LaKendra Tookes this September, Luann is asked whether she ever “misses being on RHONY.”

She responds: “No. You know, it’s like skydiving…

“It’s like, ‘Ah’, and you finally land. It’s like, ‘Oh, kiss the earth. I made it through and I’m alive’.”

Luann’s doing ‘six shows in a row’

Although Luann’s Real Housewives days are behind her, and she’s on her way to the big 6-0, she’s showing no signs of slowing down.

The Bravo star says she “made it through alive” after RHONY, but she’s still fully involved in the entertainment world.

Appearing on Scheana Shay’s podcast this August, Luann revealed how actress Tilda Swindon was a guest at one of her shows in London.

She said the actress told her she wanted to “look after” her: “Darling, you do spread so much joy, but you know, you need to rest now, darling… you’re doing six shows in a row.”

Tilda, according to Luann, then invited her to her “humble abode” in Scotland, which actually turned out to be a “castle with 300 acres of land.”

Looks like showbiz is still coming with perks for Luann!
