Shannon Beador Calls John Janssen’s Lawsuit “Extortion” in RHOC Preview, Claims She Owes Him Nothing in Court Over $75,000 Dispute

Shannon Beador said she feels like her ex John Janssen is committing “extortion” amid his $75,000 lawsuit. Recently, John’s current girlfriend Alexis Bellino – who happens to be on the new season of Real Housewives of Orange County – seemingly threatened to reveal John’s security camera footage from the night of Shannon’s DUI. According to Alexis, the footage will ruin Shannon’s life.

After the current season began filming, John sued Shannon, claiming she failed to pay him back for a $75,000 loan she used to get a facelift. Shannon has maintained that the money was a gift, and she’s recently told the judge that she doesn’t owe John the money.

In a preview of the upcoming episode, shared by @therealhousewiveszone on Instagram, Shannon suggested that through the lawsuit, John is perhaps “looking” for money “in all the wrong places, from me.”

Shannon also shared that she “countered” with an offer to pay him “about half” of what he seeks.

“I just feel like it’s extortion,” said Shannon in tears.

“What is most important to John is that people think he’s a good guy,” she continued in a confessional. “And this is step one: Try to make Shannon look bad. And he’s really taking drastic steps.”

Castmates Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter agreed that it feels like extortion.

According to court docs via Radar, Shannon recently told a judge that she doesn’t owe John anything, and the exes regularly “shared their finances” throughout their four-year relationship.

“[John] and [Shannon] were in a romantic relationship for over 4 years … During the relationship, the parties regularly shared their finances and assisted each other with certain financial contributions,” said Shannon’s lawyer. “After the relationship soured and eventually ended, [John] now claims that the $75,000 he provided to the Defendant during the relationship were loans, subject to specific yet unidentified loan terms such as interest, attorney fees, repayment timing, and the like.”

“Defendant denies that said monies were loans, but were simply monies shared during the relationship,” the document added.

Shannon previously asked the court to dismiss the case and have John pay her legal fees.

“Part, if not all, of [John’s] alleged damages were incurred as a result of [John’s] own breaches, acts, omissions, and negligence,” said Shannon. “And thus recovery by [John] against [Shannon] is barred or reduced accordingly.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Thursday nights on Bravo.
