RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice Chose Fashion School Over College: ‘college was out of the question’

Teresa Giudice never went to college. That’s because it was “out of the question,” which led to her becoming a fashion school attendee and later, being cast for The Real Housewives franchise.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey brought us the iconic cast member. However, back in her hey day, Teresa Giudice went down the fashion route because she didn’t think college was an option.

Teresa Giudice went to fashion school

Teresa attended Berkeley College growing up, where she majored in fashion marketing and management. Now, she’s watching her daughter, Melania, attend college far from home at the University of Tampa.

Giudice “wants Melania to do well at school” but is totally okay with her partying “if it feels right,” as per her Turning The Tables podcast. After Teresa’s fashion studies, she worked as a Macy’s associate buyer.

She and her younger brother Joe Gorga were raised in the Roman Catholic faith. Since starring on RHONJ, Giudice has co-authored three successful cookbooks that include recipes handed down from her mother.

College was ‘out of question’

Going to college and living the dorm life was “not even a question in Teresa’s household.” She explained how she could not ask whether she could go away from home, as that was a “no-no.”

She wanted to go to Fashion Institute of Technology and go to school in New York. However, her father said no to that, which is why she attended college closer to home in New Jersey.

Berkeley college was only 10 minutes from her house as she “wasn’t allowed to go to school at FIT.” It still paid off though, as since season 8, Giudice has been the last-remaining original cast member of the show.
